Worldwide Beers - Oceania

Lets take a trip & see what kind of beers we can find around the world.

Australia's Eumundi Lager is a remarkably refreshing beer with a crisp bitter fish. Best served colder than usual. The strong bitter flavour and crisp refreshing effervescence lends this lager to mild plain foods.

Emerson's is from New Zealand. Real dark brown colour with a large frothy head that was mostly lasting. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Chocolate taste that wasn't overpowering but balanced out nicely with good bitterness.

Worldwide Beers - Europe

The Netherlands are famous for Heineken. It is a full-bodied premium lager that has remained true to its original family recipe since 1886. Heineken is brewed from the finest of natural ingredients: water, malted barley and hops, and a unique strain of yeast.

Germany offers Holsten. A sweet, malty, flavourful lager. A very nice mixture of tastes, a solid sweet and fruity malt base with just enough dry hops to compliment the flavours.

Zywiec beer is a Polish medium-light bodied pilsner beer that is gaining popularity around the world. Crisp and bitter. This lager goes down smooth but has a very unique taste.

The Czech Republic is the No. 1 beer drinking nation on the planet. The best known Czech beer is Pilsner Urquell. It is intensely hoppy, with a balance of subtle sweetness & velvety bitterness, wrapped in a gloriously crisp body.

Worldwide Beers - Asia

China's best selling beer is Snow Beer. Appearance is light yellow, very fizzy. Big white, light head. Little retention once the carbonation settles down, but some lacing. Aroma is very light. apale lager.

Sapporo comes from Japan. Medium-light body, moderately high carbonation, and a dry finish.

India Pale Ale is light amber to copper in colour, medium to medium-high by alcohol volume, with hoppy, bitter and sometimes malty flavour.

Worldwide Beers - South America

Brahma Chopp is from Brazil. It has a pleasant, mild grain scent. In the mouth Brahma Chopp is very smooth and lean, showing scarcely any bitterness and no bite. Call it a light beer that isn't watery.

In Argentina, Cerveza Quilmes is the beer that is most popular there. In fact, people there practically worship this brand.

Peru's most popular beer is Cristal Black Lager. A pale amber light bitter flavoured beer.

Worldwide Beers - Central America & the Caribbean

Red Stripe is a Jamaican lager style beer that is light in colour, without much head when poured, with a very slight hoppy flavour.

Puerto Rico offers Medalla Light. Yellow-gold straw with very little head. Underwhelming smell, some citrus, corn, and grains.

Worldwide Beers - North America

Despite the rampant commercialisation of beer in the USA, the Americas as a whole have some amazing beers on offer.

The world's largest brewer is Anheuser Busch, which produces the world famous Budweiser. "The King of Beers," supports a crystal clear light golden color with a greenish tinge around the edges. Light in body with gentle wisps of malt, it finishes easily and smoothly, clean and crisp with little aftertaste.

One of Canada's most popular beers is Molson Canadian. Pale yellow with a good head and good carbonation. Sweet grainy smell. Refreshing with a crisp and clean finish.

Mexico brings us the world famous Corona. A smooth yet crisp finish it doesn't leave you bloated like many other beers. It is best served cold with a wedge of lime.

Worldwide Beers - Africa

The main beer produced in South Africa is Castle Lager. Castle is a fairly generic lager beer with a light, heady taste.

Fresh, light, slightly bitter, very clean, without any aftershock-it just goes down good and easy and fast. There are sippers, drinkers, and gulpers in my beer fridge-this one's a gulper.

Perhaps the most recognisable beer in Africa is Guinness. Black as night, with a rather creamy tan head. Smooth upfront with a nice rich malt flavor. Some rounded malt sweetness pulls through but it gets swept away by a hop flavor that is a bit lemony, puckering.
